Call Before You Dig

If you are planning work around your property involving trenching, grading, installing fence posts, tilling or digging of any kind, be sure to contact the Ohio Utilities Protection Service (OUPS) first. OUPS should be called at least two working days before you begin to dig. Call toll-free (800) 362-2764.

OUPS will be able to tell you the type of underground utility lines in your area. OUPS may directly contact the utilities involved or, in some instances, you will be required to contact the utility. Digging through underground cable can be dangerous, can cause interruption of service, and is costly.
