Dual
Fuel – The Add-On Heat Pump
Dual Fuel is nothing more than coupling an add-on heat pump, rather than a central air conditioner, to a gas, oil, or propane furnace. The heat pump performs the same task as the central air conditioner by keeping you cool and comfortable during the hot summer months, plus it provides 60-70% of the home’s heating during the winter with no loss in heat quality.
As a result of the increased efficiency, rebates are offered by the cooperative and your heating and cooling bills will plummet while the resale value of your home will increase. Incentives, such as low interest rate financing offered through the cooperative make this system very attractive and affordable.
Geothermal Heating,
Cooling, & Hot Water
By choosing Geothermal technology for your home, you will be installing the most energy-efficient heating and cooling system available to today’s homeowner. Geothermal is a multifunction system; it heats your home in the winter by transferring heat from the constant temperatures of the earth into the home; it cools your home by extracting heat from the home and putting it back in the ground; and a geothermal system can provide “free” hot water in the summer by utilizing heat extracted for cooling purposes to heat your water. Special rebates and low interest rate financing make the purchase and installation of this unit extremely attractive and affordable.
Security Lights
For your convenience, security lights are available for general dusk-to-dawn lighting. The cooperative will install and maintain a mercury vapor light on cooperative-owned poles for a standard monthly charge. This charge includes all electricity to operate the light and all maintenance of the fixture, including bulb replacement. The charge is added to your monthly bill and is due on the 15th of each month. This charge will appear as a separate item on your bill.
Water Heater Rebate
Program
The Coop offers to its members a very attractive rebate program for replacing an existing electric water heater or installing a new one. Contact the office for details.
Surge Protectors
Power surges from lightning and other sources can cause problems with your electric equipment. Nearly 80 percent of all surges are created by equipment in your home.
Sensitive electronic equipment like televisions are susceptible to damage if not properly protected.
Carroll Electric has a purchase and or lease program using Leviton surge suppression devices. These devices are on display in the lobby at Carroll Electric.
Youth Tour to
Washington, D.C.
Each year Carroll Electric Cooperative sends two area high school sophomores or juniors on an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. This is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to learn about our nation’s government, as well as see many fascinating sights. For additional information, contact the coop office.
Scholarships
Every year, Carroll Electric Cooperative
awards scholarship funds to four area high school seniors, two girls and two
boys, to assist in furthering their education.
The first place winners in each division then compete in Columbus at the
state level for additional scholarship money.
The cooperative recognizes these young people as our future leaders and
strives to assist them in bettering themselves.
For more information and application forms, please contact our office.
Member Publications
Country Living magazine is distributed each month to every member of the cooperative. This publication is the most practical method of staying in touch with you. It covers major events taking place at the cooperative, as well as articles on electric safety, appliances, energy conservation and other topics related to your electric cooperative.
