Open Membership
A cooperative is a business which provides service to its members. A coop has an open membership and will provide service to anyone living within the boundaries of its service area. You become a member by paying a $10.00 membership fee, signing a membership application, having a service connection, and agreeing to purchase energy from Carroll Electric. A deposit is a requirement for all rental properties.
Geothermal Heating, Cooling & Hot Water
By choosing Geothermal technology for your home, you will be installing the most energy-efficient heating and cooling system available to today's homeowner. Geothermal is a multifunction system; it heats your home in the winter by transferring heat from the constant temperatures of the earth into the home; it cools your home by extracting heat from the home and putting it back in the ground; and a geothermal system can provide “free” hot water in the summer by utilizing heat extracted for cooling purposes to heat your water. Special rebates and low-interest-rate financing make the purchase and installation of this unit extremely attractive and affordable.
Security Lights
For your convenience, security lights are available for general dusk-to-dawn lighting. CEC will install and maintain a high-pressure sodium light on cooperative-owned poles for a standard monthly charge. This charge includes all electricity to operate the light and all maintenance of the fixture, including bulb replacement. The charge is added to your monthly bill and is due on the 15th of each month. This charge will appear as a separate item on your bill.
Water Heater Rebate Program
CEC offers members a rebate program for replacing an existing electric water heater or installing a new one. For more information, call (330) 627-2116.
Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.
Each year CEC sends two area high school sophomores or juniors on an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. This is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to learn about our nation's government as well as see many fascinating sights. For more information, call (330) 627-2116.
Scholarships
Every year, CEC awards scholarship funds to six area high school seniors (three girls and three boys) to assist in furthering their education. The first place winners in each division then compete in Columbus at the state level for additional scholarship money. The cooperative recognizes these young people as our future leaders and strives to assist them in bettering themselves. For more information and application forms, please contact our office by calling (330) 627-2116.
Generlink
CEC offers members the opportunity to purchase a Generlink, a meter collar device that makes connecting a portable generator safe and easy. For more information, visit the Generlink website, or contact (330) 627-2116.
